Preservation & Restoration

Among FAPE’s restoration projects are the historic eighteenth century Hôtel de Talleyrand, in Paris, once headquarters for the Marshall Plan and now an American embassy annex building; and Winfield House, the U.S. Ambassador’s Residence in London. The latter was supported by an endowment for the maintenance and preservation of Winfield House established by Leonore and Walter Annenberg through the Annenberg Foundation. Other FAPE projects have included restoring the treasures of the Petschek Palace, the U.S. Embassy Residence in Prague; preserving ancient statuary in the gardens at the U.S. Embassy in Rome; refurbishing the public rooms at the U.S. Embassy Residences in Warsaw and Beijing; restoring the wood paneling in several State Rooms at the historic U.S. Embassy Residence in Buenos Aires; and funding restoration projects at the U.S. Embassy Residences in Brussels, Budapest, Madrid, and Vienna.
