Checks may be made payable to Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies, and forwarded to the above address. All charitable contributions to FAPE are deductible to the maximum extent permitted for federal income, estate, and gift tax purposes. Contributions of securities and of property suitable for display in U.S. embassies abroad that have been held for more than one year (“capital gain property”) are deductible at their fair market value on the date of the contribution. As required by recently adopted tax rules, the value claimed for certain contributions of property worth more than $5,000 must be substantiated by a “qualified appraisal.” More information about these substantiation requirements will be furnished on request to interested contributors.
